Job description lead engineer structural design
Responsibility
The lead engineer is involved in and responsible for basic and detailed engineering of projects and supervises other engineers and/or draftsmen concerning civil and structure in industrial projects.
He is responsible for applicable technology and for the project budget concerning civil and structure.
Priorities
- Basic engineering of projects; (assist in) detailed engineering if required
- Supervise project team up to 10 employees
- Set up detailed planning for project activities
- Distribute and coordinate activities within the project team
- Coordinate strength and other applicable calculations in e.g. STAAD and ANSYS
- Monitor spent hours and, if necessary, take corrective measures; report deviations on planning and/or budget to project manager
Routines
- Monitor compliance of work with basic design
- Monitor compliance of work with quality system, applicable laws, user standards etc.
- Monitor correct implementation of project activities and –information in project team
- Monitor progress of work to meet deadlines
Supervision
- Project team up to 10 employees
Administration
- File project documents according to quality management system
- Monitor and correct project planning
Other requirements
- Education level B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering or equal
- Experience in offshore, oil and gas, chemical, food and/or pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to work independent and in a team
- Capability of conceptual thinking and willingness to take responsibility in detail
- Knowledge and experience in 3D engineering software (PDMS, X-steel/Tekla Structures etc.)
